GETTING TO KNOW DR. RINEHART:

  • WHO OR WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A DOCTOR, PARTICULARLY A REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGIST?
  • Becoming a doctor was a dream since the age of 5. I grew up in small town of only 7000 people. My close friends’ father was a Family Physician. He used to give us his broken instruments to conduct ‘experiments’. My friend and I both became doctors. It was research I did as a medical student that drove my interest in reproductive medicine.
  • WHO INSPIRES YOU?
  • My patients inspire me every day. The most memorable patient experience I had was in 1986 when I was in Boston doing general GYN and OB. It was 2 a.m. on Christmas, and the nurse midwife and I had worked to help a couple deliver. The joy that that couple shared has never left my memory and at that time I remember thinking it just doesn’t get any better that this.
  • WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
  • First, I enjoy my patients. There is nothing more rewarding than helping couples achieve their dreams of becoming parents. Secondly, the teacher and scientist in me loves data analysis. The data allows couple to have objective information to assist in decision making.

Educational Background:
