While In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is often discussed in Infertility, it is important to remember that prior to any treatment, a thorough evaluation of both the female and her partner must occur. Infertility can be a multifactorial condition, some of which may require medical, surgical, or both treatments in order for the patient to achieve and maintain a successful pregnancy.
A complete infertility workup includes a thorough review of a couple’s history, clinical examination, assessment of ovarian reserve that requires a Day 3 (of the menstrual cycle) blood work and Anti Mullerian Hormone (AMH). In addition, pelvic ultrasound imaging and a Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) or SIS is performed to evaluate the uterus or fallopian tubes. These tests can determine the presence of any structural or congenital abnormalities which need to be corrected.
Team RMI offers Advanced Reproductive Surgery when needed. These may include procedures such as uterine fibroid removal, endometriosis or uterine and tubal corrective surgery such as tubal reversal.
