Reproductive Medicine Institute (RMI) is proud to support all members of our Military, whether active duty, reserve, or veterans. For those who have protected and served, RMI is honored to offer a Military Fertility Assistance Program (MFAP) to help those who are struggling to get or stay pregnant with the widest reach of fertility treatment options from intrauterine insemination (IUI) to In vitro fertilization (IVF).

Dr. Nasir Rana, the founding physician at RMI and retired Colonel from U.S. Air Force Reserve, has a strong desire to give back to those who served our country. “Every member of RMI is proud of those who are serving, have served, and their families. We have a great appreciation for the service they provide to our country, and in return, we want to provide them with all the help we can.”

Service Women’s Action Network (SWAN) reported that approximately 30% of all military women (active duty branches, reserve, and veterans) had difficulty conceiving on their own, the highest at 37% for those who are active duty. SWAN also reported Tricare has limited coverage for military personal struggling to conceive, completely excluding IVF as a treatment option.

Efforts have been made to increase fertility care through the VHA, but veterans must be able to show that their infertility was directly connected to their service. Whether due to combat-related issues or not, members of the military are eligible for significant discounts on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) services at RMI, including IVF.  Our finance team will work with you and your insurance company to maximize benefits and reduce out-of-pocket costs.  In addition, RMI can help military patients find resources including drug assistance programs from pharmaceutical companies like EMD Serono and Ferring Pharmaceuticals.

Organizations such as SWAN and Resolve, The National Infertility Association are taking action to help members of our military gain greater access to healthcare, including fertility treatments. You can visit their webpage to see how you can help provide support.

Our expert team at RMI wants to help those who have served us at any of our seven Chicagoland locations: Bloomingdale, Northbrook, Chicago, Oak Brook, Oak Lawn, Evanston, and Elmhurst. Fertility care can be an emotional experience that requires a hands-on, home-grown touch while still having access to global clinical breakthroughs.
